Heading: Goal tending and basket interference Sub Heading: Penalty
"If the violation is committed by a defensive player, the offensive team shall be awarded:
1 point, if the ball was released for a free throw.
2 points, if the ball was released from the 2-point goal area.
3 points, if the ball was released from the 3-point goal area.
The awarding of the points is considered as if the ball had entered the basket."
